The Green Mountain Community Network (doing business as the Green Mountain Express) is the designated public transit provider in Bennington County. The GMCN is a non-profit entity that obtains most of its funding through state and federal grant sources. Currently, the GMCN operates fixed-route and demand-response service throughout the county.

In addition, several human service organizations offer transportation for their clients. Taxis are also available, as well as the Yankee Trails bus that provides service from Bennington to Albany.
The regional Public Transit Advisory Committee (PTAC) exists at the county level and is comprised of representatives of public transit providers, human service agencies, Elderly & Disabled transit partner agencies, Regional Planning Commission, clients and riders, and others.
